Gen X, mortgage industry, side quest.

I work full-time in the mortgage industry — that's the day job, and it's staying the day job. This site isn't about replacing it.

A few years back I started picking up tasks on Clickworker, mostly out of curiosity. That led to Prolific, then Connect — which has become my longest-running and most consistent platform — and more recently dscout and UserTesting.

I'm not the most tactical person in this space — there are plenty of sharper voices on Reddit for that. What I've got is time in the seat: real experience, middle-aged and unglamorous, using these platforms as one more tool to pad a retirement fund with a roughly 15-year runway.

This site is where I write it down — the platforms, the wins, the dead ends, and the numbers, as I go.
